Checking the Amiga A520 RF Modulator
Summary
In the absence of any other way of displaying the output from the Amiga I needed to check the modulator was in good condition.
Steps
I was surprised how easy it came apart, with only four plastic lugs press fitting the lid to the base.
Everything looks ok here. There are only a few caps, but they show no sign of swelling.
Removing the RF shield also shows this part of the board is in good condition.
Conclusion
Everything looks ok. The caps are in good condition and there is no corrosion on any of the parts.
Next Steps
None, unless something isn’t working when I test it on power up!
